LYRICS || FIRST IMPRESSION Straight from the first time you know that it’s right Watch you dancing and adrenaline aroused One look at my cloths now, enough to get me all sussed out Looking down, what are you trying to hide? First impression Gut reaction I need some time Circling around First impression, yeah First impression, yeah Won’t be the first to make or break Judge and base on first impression Now, I knew I’d end up with a girl who looks great when she wakes up Don't need to think you can tell from the start Initially I didn’t like most of my favourite bands But I need to hear a new song that will get me all hyped up First impression Sweet sensation I need some time Circling around First impression, yeah First impression, yeah Won’t be the first to make or break Judge and base on first impression Don’t want to talk about it, just want to hide behind it Don’t want to talk about it – first impression Well on the TV, London looked like worlds apart But once in its centre, it felt familiar and far Need to get, need to get a job, and for this I really need all my charm First reaction, everything seems overpriced First impression Best intentions I need some time Circling around First impression, yeah First impression, yeah Won’t be the first to make or break Judge and base on first impression

LYRICS || JIMI ICONOCLAST (Or: The Death of the Rock 'n' Roll Band as We Know It?) Jimi iconoclast He’s got a fever working blast Smash the status that wears him out He’s got to move on to get back He’s got the love in his heart He’s gonna take it and then please ya’ Things were on hold too long inside And the fever was always denied He’s taking a look the other side Feeling so bad, I guess I know it’s sad Talking about, the split of a rock 'n’ roll band Jimi iconoclast He’s got a zipper through a looking glass Trash the adverts that sell him out He’s got to keep on to get back He’s got the love in his heart He’s gonna take it and then please ya’ Things were on hold too long inside And the fever was always denied He’s taking a look the other side Feeling so bad, I guess I know it’s sad Talking about, the search for a rock 'n’ roll band And the drums – sounded thousands of times like that before And the bass - sounded thousands of times like that before And the guitar - sounded thousands of times like that before I’m no different, I’m just getting bored And the songs - sounded thousands of times like that before He’s gonna take it and then please ya’ Things were on hold too long inside And the fever was always denied He’s going for the underground Feeling so bad, I guess I know it’s sad Talking about, the death of the rock 'n’ roll band As we know it – as we know it As we know it – as we know it – as we know it As we know it – ooh yeah – ah – ah

LYRICS || BLUE PLAQUE Overall you've got no reasons to drag Running out of time to score a blue plaque Every place you leave is like when you'll die Keep moving on without you around Would love to love, and eye to eye Starting again, expecting to fly Here I am and here we're all Starting afresh, with both hands Pay a visit to a place from your past Little worlds that keep moving fast Unless you made a very serious mark You'd see that no one there could tell who you are Would love to love, and eye to eye Starting again, expecting to fly Here I am and here we're all Starting afresh with both hands Would love to love, and eye to eye Starting again, expecting to fly Here I am and here we're all Starting afresh with both hands

LYRICS || DESERT BATH LOVE (BACKING AWAY) Backing away, I feel shivers of grey As the sun lifts her head on the rolling tide Backing away, I feel shivers of grey As the tide moves away from the morning sun I feel high (Desert bath, desert bath, desert bath love, desert bath) I feel high (Desert bath, desert bath, desert bath love) Backing away, I feel shivers of grey As the tide is all red from the morning sun Backing away, I feel shivers of grey As the mountains ahead are all glowing bright I feel high (Desert bath, desert bath, desert bath love, desert bath) I feel high (Desert bath, desert bath, desert bath love) And though I was afraid of trying I'm happy that I'd stood the chance And though I could not have controlled it I'm happy that I had kept my calm And though I am afraid of flying Glad no one else was - well Orchid energy (Orchid energy) Top the hill happy (Top the hill happy) Overlooking sea (Overlooking sea) Absolute and free (Absolute and free) Backing away, I feel shivers of grey As the sun moves away from the rolling tide

about

Sorry! The offer for a free download has now finished - the album will be available on all streaming platforms as of Sunday, March 13th.

This is the final release in the ‘Alien Alright’ project. After 13 albums, that were all either ‘Hi-Fi’ ‘studio’ produced or completely bare ‘lo-fi’ vocals over acoustic guitar analogue recordings, this album combines the two - and with the most extreme difference between them.

It starts with 5 regular length songs, all carefully thought-out, produced, arranged, mixed and mastered, with some talented people helping along. There’s drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, and the sound is probably the nearest I ever got to professional standards.

And then come 16 short songs, all with just vocals over an acoustic guitar, most of them recorded in one take, nearly all with sketchy lyrics, but they go straight to the point with a clear dominant central melody.

Despite the differences, it’s all part of the same thing, just in a different stage of development… and it’s all very melodious - which is where it always starts for me. Whether I hear a new song or create one myself, I need something that will excite me on first impression (which is normally the melody), and also elements that will take time to discover, appreciate and enjoy.

If you give this album a proper chance, I think you’re going to really like it… (whether in stages, on first impression or eventually as something of an acquired taste…)

Get your free download now before it goes - this offer will stay live only until the end of Thu, March 10th, or less then that if the bandcamp allowance runs out beforehand.

Thanks for listening!

about

ALiEN ALRiGHT Modi'In Makabim Re'Ut, Israel

Landing in the UK for an unexpected stay of 7 years, 'Alien Alright' is like an 'outsider's indie-rock diary' of music recorded during that time.

It's organized by order and consists of 14 albums - all 100% DIY, home-made.

Some of the albums are more properly produced, some are recorded with just vocals over an acoustic guitar, and 2 are improvised live.

You’re welcome to explore and enjoy :)
