LYRICS | RECORD STORE (OR: MAKE THE MUSIC THAT YOU WANT TO HEAR) Most of my friends don't seem to care for music anymore They get it for their phone, or make their own A laptop, some plug-ins and you get yourself a song Make the music that you want to hear I can remember the feeling of going to the record store (Record store, record store) Most of my friends don't buy albums anymore (Anymore, anymore) They're too expensive and really what for? They download for nothing dozens in one go Never have the time to listen to the music To the music that they want to hear And people don't seem to have patience for music anymore There's too much choice and you need time to appreciate a good record Free podcasts, playlists, and audio streams Drowning in the music that you'd like to hear I can remember the feeling of going to the record store (Record store, record store) My generation barely goes there anymore (Anymore, anymore) Anyone these days releases their own album Might as well have fun – leave out the polished sound Why care if people like it, just make the music Make the music that you want to hear Oh-o Ooh Make the music that you want to hear Wo-oh-oh-oh Make the music that you want to hear Make the music that Make the music that Make the music that you want to hear Oh-oh-oh-oh-woo-wo Make the music that you want to hear Make the music that Make the music that Make the music that Wo-oh-oh-oh Make Make Make the music That you want to hear Make The music That you want to hear That you want to hear That you want to hear That you want to hear Make the music that you want to hear

about

Thanks for visiting this page! This single consists of two songs that were previously released in versions that were a lot longer.

The originally 9-minute long 'Record Store' gets here a serious edit to under 4 minutes, and 'Good for the Soul', is now also much shorter, just over 4 minute long, instead of almost 6.

The structure of the verses in 'Good for the Soul' is based on the synagogue blessing of the Kohanim (descendants of the Cohen family), and 'Record Store' too attempts in its verses to capture something from the Jewish Sephardic type of melodic phrasing.

Both songs are taken from the album 'What We Love in Music", where you can still listen to the full length versions. Check it out here: alienalright.bandcamp.com/album/10-what-we-love-in-music

Thanks for listening, hope you had a good time!

about

ALiEN ALRiGHT Modi'In Makabim Re'Ut, Israel

Landing in the UK for an unexpected stay of 7 years, 'Alien Alright' is like an 'outsider's indie-rock diary' of music recorded during that time.

It's organized by order and consists of 14 albums - all 100% DIY, home-made.

Some of the albums are more properly produced, some are recorded with just vocals over an acoustic guitar, and 2 are improvised live.

You’re welcome to explore and enjoy :)
